The new version of Pages that is part of iWork ’06 appears to suffer from new visual glitches that did not affect version 1.0 of the product. These visual glitches affect the text rendering and take the form of white lines running across the width of the page:

White lines in Pages

It’s hard to reproduce this reliably, but it happens to me on a regular basis in Pages 2.0 with documents in Times New Roman. It’s a new problem with Pages 2.0. I don’t remember ever seeing these white lines in Pages 1.0.

It’s a purely cosmetic problem and it comes and goes. Still, it looks obvious enough to me, and occurs frequently enough to be noticed by Apple’s engineers. Hopefully the problem will be fixed in an update soon.
