Mail 2.0: Unread message marked as read after undone move

Select a message marked as unread in your Inbox and drag it to another mailbox. Hit command-Z to undo the move.
The message comes back to the Inbox, but is now marked as read — even though the message was not read at any point!
(I am not using the “message area” at the bottom of the main window to view the contents of a message as soon as it’s selected in the list of messages. I view my messages in separate windows only. In other words, my unread messages should only become read after I’ve double-clicked on them or pressed Return on them at least once.)
