David Bowie album packaging

Just got the latest David Bowie album Reality in its limited edition digipak packaging (with bonus CD). I must admit I have no idea how one is supposed to get the CDs out of the case. Instead of being hollow and flexible, the plastic part in the center of the case that you’re supposed to press on with your index finger while taking the CD out with your thumb is solid. WTF? Is this a manufacturing defect, or what? I cannot get the CDs out without actually breaking the plastic.
Geez. The type of thing that makes you wonder if we’ve changed planets all of a sudden.
Needless to say, I have really managed to listen to the music properly quite yet.
