Safari bug with PRE tag

As an item posted on this blog earlier today demonstrates, there appears to be a bug in Safari when using A tags within a block of text formatted with the PRE tag.

Safari renders such text using the font Times instead of the monospace (fixed-width) font defined in its preferences.

It’s possible that the problem only occurs when using a CSS style sheet with style definitions for A, like this site does. I’ve tried adding a style definition for PRE that specifies the “monospace” font family explicitly, but it doesn’t change anything. I’ve also tried adding a style definition for A tags within PRE tags — again, to no avail.

Things render properly in Camino. Bug filed with Apple.
