Safari behaviour with ALT attributes in IMG tags

When rendering pages that contain IMG
tags referring to picture files, if the IMG
tag contains an ALT
attribute, Safari displays the text of the ALT
attribute while loading the image. However, if the downloading process is interrupted before the image is loaded (when the user clicks on the “Stop” button, for example), then Safari removes the ALT
text and just displays a question mark instead.
Safari should leave the ALT
text on the screen, as it is the only way to identify the different elements of the page at this stage. (The question mark can appear in the corner of the image area, like in does in other browsers.)
