EPL: Day 2, Part 2

I am afraid Arsenal squashed Middlesborough once again on their home turf on Sunday. The game was effectively over after 25 minutes… and, of course, we’ve all seen it before.

It’s a bit sad that Middlesborough are so utterly unable to offer any kind of challenge. You’d think the teams were from two different leagues… Beyond the goals themselves, it doesn’t make for a very exciting football watching experience. In such a situation, even Vieira can afford a few lousy passes. It was nice to have kept a clean sheet, and nice to have matched Manchester United’s goal difference. There was clearly room for a couple more goals, though. But I suppose you can’t ask for too much.

Earlier in the day Liverpool played at Aston Villa. Didn’t even bother to watch. Sounds like the same old same old (goal-less draw). Pretty sad.

I watched the Liverpool Villa game in the pub (I also watched the Arsenal Boro one, but by that stage I was too drunk to form an opinion). In spite of it’s scoreline the Liverpool Villa match was a really, really good game. End-to-end stuff, and some very good attacking moves, particularly by Villa in the second half.

Yeah, I saw the highlights last night. Looks like there were a fair number of chances.

On the other hand, even some Liverpool fans weren’t too impressed.
