First, Dan Gillmor in a weblog entry posted yesterday:

You want anyone to believe security is at the top of the to-do list? Stop all new Windows and Office development for six months or a year, or however long it takes, and fix the products you’re already selling — and kill all those outrageous bugs that aren’t safety-related after you’ve done away with the security woes. Devote those thousands of talented developers to this task and none other.

My emphasis. Then Scoble’s attempted response. Note how he completely fails to address the “kill all those outrageous bugs” part.

Says it all.

By the time Microsoft fixes all security issues and all outrageous bugs, our sun will have turned INTO a supernova. And that, unfortunately, is just the way it is.
