Radio comments broken

This is just a note to let people know that UserLand’s comments server appears to be down (has been unaccessible from here since July 9), and it causes my blog page to LOAD much slower on the Web, because your browser desperately attempts to LOAD the comments counts from UserLand’s servers and is not getting any response.
After a while, your browser will give up and render the page without the comments counts (it just shows empty brackets instead), but I realize that it’s a pain.
The only solution for me would be to turn comments off altogether. A bit drastic… but if this continues, I might have to do it.
In the longer term, it’s yet another reason to switch from Radio to something else…
Sorry for the inconvenience. If you’re still using Explorer, do yourself a favor and switch to Safari, which will render things much faster, with or without comments. And don’t forget that you can also read this blog using a newsreader/aggregator such as NetNewsWire. The RSS feed of this blog doesn’t include comments and is not affected.
