Well, you could see it coming… With a makeshift defense and great finishers like Kewell and Viduka, there had to be goals for Leeds — and Arsenal were unable to score enough of their own to keep their dream alive.

With one goal (Wiltord) denied for offside when Viduka himself was offside on his goal, and two shots against the post, it seems that Arsenal were somewhat unlucky — but it would be unfair to Manchester United to blame Arsenal’s failure to repeat their Double on their lack of luck. They simply were not strong enough to hold their 8-point lead, and Man U took full advantage of it.

Well, the only things worth getting excited about now are the battle between Bolton and West Ham for Premiership survival, and the FA Cup final in two weeks. Of course, it would also be great if Everton could beat Man U in the final game next week, just for the fun of it and to cap Everton’s great revival.

Arsenal can still win something valuable this season (the FA Cup), and they should also try to help Thierry Henry score as many goals as possible in their last two league games so that he can add the Golden Boot to his wonderful achievements this season.
