English Premier League football on Canadian TV: no more pay-per-view

Good news for English Premier League fans in Canada. The experiment with offering Sunday games via pay-per-view (at $15 a pop, plus tax) last year must have been a commercial failure, since it will not be continued this year.

Instead, Sunday games that are available via pay-per-view in the US will be broadcast by Canadian sports channel The Score. If you are subscribed to a digital cable or satellite service, The Score is probably included in your regular Sports channel package. This means that you’ll get these games at no additional cost.

I’ve never watched The Score before, but it is indeed included in my Sports package, and I had a quick look last night and they were indeed advertising their broadcast of Sunday’s upcoming clash between Chelsea and Arsenal.

Cool.
