Finder: Dragging proxy icon to the trash creates a copy in the trash

Another example of sloppy, inconsistent programming by Apple in Mac OS X’s Finder…
Create a folder called “Test” in your home folder. Open the folder “Test” in a new Finder window, and switch the Finder to View as List mode (if it’s not in this view mode already), so that the Finder window displays the contents of the “Test” folder in list view mode.
Now click-and-hold on the proxy icon in the Finder window’s title bar. This will select the proxy icon itself, which is supposed to be a proxy for the “Test” folder itself. Drag this proxy icon to the trash.
This is supposed to move the “Test” folder to the trash, isn’t it? Well, it doesn’t. It actually creates a copy of the “Test” folder in the trash, but the folder itself doesn’t move.
Bad.

No problem here. With me it actually moves the folder.

It’s stranger than I initially thought. The Finder seems to fall out of sync with itself. The item is moved, but is still shown in its original folder as well. In other words, it’s shown as being in two different places at the same time. After a while, it finally disappears in the original folder. But in the mean time I can trash it again and again, and it actually moves another copy of the folder to the trash each and every time.

I don’t see this behaviour either. With me the item disappears and is moved instantly to the trash.
