AirPort Software 3.3.1 does not fix roaming network problem

I am sorry to report that the recently released AirPort Software 3.3.1 update still doesn’t fix my problem with my roaming network.

It’s becoming quite frustrating. I’ve sent another bug report to Apple, and it seems to have prompted them to follow up on the previous report, after things had stalled for a while. Now they are asking for a diagram of my network setup.

I just did one in OmniGraffle (decent tool, but weird behaviours, not standard for a Mac application) and sent it, along with the config files for my two Base Stations. Got an answer saying that the “information has been forwarded to the appropriate engineering team“.

We’ll see. I am starting to get a bit impatient though. Because of this bug, for the past six months now I have been unable to use my PowerBook G4 in more than half of my house!

Pierre: My apologies for asking if this is well known, but how does one report a bug to Apple? I’ve used the feedback page to report problems, but is that the channel that you use?

The feedback page is supposed to be OK for reporting bugs as well, but some people say that it’s better to use the “Bug Reporter” feature that’s part of the Apple Developer Connection.

You may join the ADC for free even if you are not a professional developer. Once you are a member, you just need to go to this page to log in and then file your bug report.
