OmniWeb 5: Impressive feature set

I must say that the feature set of the upcoming OmniWeb 5 web browser looks very promising. It focuses heavily on improving the user experience. This makes sense since the OmniGroup have adopted Apple’s own web rendering engine for their browser, and no longer need to devote their limited resources to that aspect of their web browser.

Whether the product will be worth the $30 expense will depend heavily on how well it performs in the real world, i.e. on application stability, page loading speed, etc. In my experience, Safari is a very stable browser, and its performance with my poky modem connection is quite good.

But on paper OmniWeb 5 looks very impressive. I can’t wait to give it a try.
