A new column by Steve Lohr in The New York Times about the recent settlement between Microsoft and AOL Time Warner includes the following:

Though Real Networks and Microsoft are the leaders, there are other competitors in the field, and some big potential entrants. Apple Computer offers QuickTime media software, and with the recent introduction of Apple Computer’s iStore online music sales service, first for Macintosh computers and later for Windows PC’s, the company is becoming a more serious competitor. [my emphasis]

Apple’s “iStore”? Mmm. Still, I guess we can’t complain when a major newspaper actually writes that Apple is becoming a more serious competitor.
