We had to endure Manchester United yet again here in Canada… They were far from impressive against Wolverhampton, who should at least have earned a point. Former Sedan striker Henri Camara had half a dozen chances and wasn’t able to convert any of them.

Amazingly enough, Ruud van Nistelrooy didn’t get a single chance, let alone the goal that would have given him the all-time record in scoring in consecutive league games. (It would have made it 11.) In truth, Manchester as a whole didn’t create anything. It was a far cry from the predicted thrashing of Wolves after the newly promoted club had let in 9 goals in two games.

Still, Man U bagged the points just the same, and Arsenal now only leads the league thanks to its better goal difference. Two goals by Sol Campbell (good for him) and — who else? — Thierry Henry were enough to seal the game at Highbury, and things are looking good for our boys so far.

It was sad to hear that Newcastle are out of the Champions League, but their recent performances were not very impressive and this is not totally unexpected.
