In order to complete the picture of the custom-designed workflow that I described in my two previous posts: From Pages ’09 to the Web: An XML-based workflow From Pages ’09 to the Web: An XML-based workflow (continued) I think it would be a good idea to provide a few screen captures that illustrate the process in a […]

It’s the frustrated developer in me. Once I start fiddling with code, I cannot stop. (When I was a teenager, I spent hours and hours writing programs, first in Basic, then in compiled Basic, then in assembly code, first on a Sharp MZ80K and then on a Commodore 64. I could have become a software […]
A couple of weeks ago, I set up a new French-language web site at www.fauxamis.fr on which I discuss various issues relating to what linguists call “false friends” or “deceptive cognates” between English and French. The site is WordPress-based, but is not exactly a blog. It’s more like a repository where I will gradually add […]

If you visited this site on the web in the past week or so, you will have noticed that things have not been quite right at Betalogue lately. While the rest of the world was busy celebrating Barack Obama’s classy victory in the U.S. elections, I have actually been busy fighting repeated attacks from very […]
Either I am desperately unlucky or WordPress has some pretty serious security issues. You might remember that, a while ago, my site was hacked. That prompted me to update to the latest version of WordPress at the time, and to temporarily shut down the discussion features, including the ability for new users to register themselves […]
Betalogue readers don’t seem attached to an excerpts-only feed.
Let’s try this again.
Not sure if Betalogue readers actually want such a feed. Let me know.
It looks like Betalogue has been hacked. Read about the measures that I have taken and important information for registered Betalogue users.
A strange bug causes WordPress to change all the values for the blog’s admin user.
I have to stop pulling my hair, but I just cannot figure out this particular problem.
