PowerPoint 2011: Yet more visual glitches

Here’s the situation. I am in a text box and I have selected a paragraph that I need to replace with some other text that I have copied in the Clipboard from another application:

selected text

I then press command-V to paste my text:

pasted text

Then I see that, of course, PowerPoint is not smart enough to paste and match the style of the existing text by default, so I press command-Z to cancel the Paste command, which should return me to the state illustrated in the first picture. Instead, I get this:

cancelled

Nice.

PowerPoint 2011 is, like all its predecessors, a pathetic piece of shit and Microsoft’s Mac engineers are a bunch of incompetents who cannot get even the most simple things right. There is no other way to put it. How difficult is it to redraw text properly after cancelling a Paste command?
