Numbers ’09: Now supports header row freezing

There are good news for Numbers ’09 users who work with large tables. In previous versions of Numbers, the only way to keep a long table’s header row visible at all times was to switch from the regular view mode to the print view mode, where Numbers would divide the tables into pages and show the repetition of the header row at the top of each page.

In Numbers ’09, it is now possible to do something that Microsoft Excel has supported for a long time, i.e. to freeze header rows. All you need to do is go to the toolbar button of your choice for header rows and select the “Freeze Header Rows” command:

And of course, since it’s Apple we are talking about here, the result looks much nicer than the corresponding feature in Excel, with a nice drop shadow effect:
