pecosbill: Your tip wouldn’t have worked, simply because the volume icons in question were only “phantom” copies of the original icons. They no longer had an eject button, and they no longer corresponded to any mounted volume. But like I said in my post, I suspect it was a Finder bug rather than a CS4 bug anyway. It remains true that CS4 mounts and unmounts all kinds of disk images with impenetrable names.
