If you had any doubts, after the rather subdued Things Left Unsaid (1993), whether saxophonist Eric Leeds could get really funky without the help of Prince, then you owe it to yourself to check out Now and Again.

The album was originally released in 2000, but was very hard to find. The 2003 re-release is readily available, however.

It features Eric Leeds’ trademark smoothness, but with a very heavy dose of funk that is sure to satisfy even the most ardent fans of the Madhouse albums and other Prince/Leeds instrumental collaborations, including the latest Prince release entitled N.E.W.S.
