My apologies to Betalogue readers for the disruption of the past 24 hours or so. A combination of server problems and backup recovery issues caused the contents of the blog to disappear for a while.

Things should be back to normal now, except that some non-7-bit characters in reader comments are not encoded properly. I am looking into the issue.

I will also probably be migrating the entire latext.com domain to a new server shortly, so there will probably be further disruptions due to unavoidable DNS issues. I will post information on this when available.

I still need help with some PHP/mySQL issues (I know very little about PHP/mySQL, although I have been forced to learn fast in the past 24 hours), especially when trying to use phpMyAdmin to administer my blog database. Both my web host and the pMachine staff seem unable to identify the issues and help me solve them, so I need expert advice here. If you have the expertise and can spare a few minutes, I’d greatly appreciate it. Please email me by clicking on the link below.
